Yummys for Spring

Most people think that there aren't any seasonal snacks for spring, unlike in the summer, autumn or winter seasons – and this is fair enough, because for the most part, people associate those other seasons with particular holidays and the like. But that doesn't mean that there aren't any snacks that are ideal for spring. This is especially true for the young ones – spring is a time for youth, literally and figuratively – and thus, most snacks that are ideal for the spring season are snacks that provide a lot of energy. Spring is also pretty much the time for everyone to move (ever heard of spring cleaning? that takes a lot of energy!), so even more energy is needed for that. This means a lot of fuel food that have ingredients with carbohydrates, sugar and the like.



This doesn't mean, however, that your yummy options for spring are lacking for those who are on a diet. Sugar in fruits count as sugar after all, and carbohydrates don't necessarily lend to you gaining unnecessary weight, especially when you're getting to be so active. If you really think about it, spring is the best time to be active because the snow has thawed (or is thawing), the sunshine isn't quite so hot (because of the drizzles), and who wouldn't want to be exercising after being in virtual hibernation during the winter? That being said, spring yummys can range from muffins to apple-raisin desserts. All you need is a little imagination, and the knowledge that spring is perfect for those quick-boost foods that will help you pick up your days after the sleepy winter.
